The creative process never ends at Motu, but results of the process do surface frequently.  For example…

In May of 2008, Motu completed its first short film, The Gold Nugget, written, produced and directed by Michael William Hogan.  Shot at various locations in Colorado, The Gold Nugget is the first in a series of shorts that Motu will produce for submission to film festivals around the globe.

A team from Motu ventured to Vail, Colorado to participate in the 1st Annual Vail Film Festival ReelQuick 48-Hour Film Competition.  Competing teams needed to create a maximum 5-minute film in just 48 hours; including mandated dialogue, props, locations and characters.  Once the list of mandates was distributed, teams went off to brainstorm, write a script, recruit actors, select locations, film and edit.  48 hours later, the finished product had to be turned in.

Conceding that we didn’t put a lot of time into planning our trip to Vail—we left all the lighting equipment at home and our camera was digital, but not HD—we opted for creativity over production quality.  Click here for a peek at the finished product.
